UFC News: UFC 128, Bader Calls Out Franklin & Bonnar, UFC Canadian TV Deal

UFC 128

It appears that the UFC has enjoyed the success of streaming preliminary fights to their facebook page.  MMAJunkie has revealed that they will stream two UFC 128 fights to the page on March 19th. The two fights that will be shown will be Ricardo Almeida vs. Mike Pyle and Kurt Pellegrino vs. Gleison Tibau, which will take place on March 19th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

The weigh in for UFC 128 will take place Friday March 18th at the AmeriHealth Pavilion at the Prudential Center. The weigh in will be open to the public and doors will open at 3 pm, with the first fighter hitting the scales at 4 pm.

Prior to the weigh ins, UFC Fight Club members will be able to attend a question and answer session with former UFC champion, Chuck Liddell. Doors to that event open at 1pm.

In addition, UFC champions Frankie Edgar and Dominick Cruz will be on hand to sign autographs for the general public beginning at 1pm.

Bader Calls Out Franklin & Bonnar

UFC light heavyweight, Ryan Bader, recently requested a fight against Tito Ortiz. Ortiz was dismissive of Bader's request and it now appears that Bader has moved on and is looking to fight either Stephan Bonnar or Rich Franklin.

Bader recently spoke to BloodyElbow, saying, "Tito (Ortiz) is probably not going to happen. In that interview they were asking who I thought I would fight and I said either Tito, (Rich) Franklin or (Stephan) Bonnar because those are the guys that are open. Those are the three guys who don’t have fights or that aren’t injured at this time. People blow it up like I called Tito out. I’d like to fight him but I don’t think he will."

UFC Canadian TV Deal

The UFC has signed a four-year deal with Rogers Sportsnet for Canadian broadcasting rights. Sportsnet.ca reports that UFC president Dana White had the following to say about the deal, "We’re excited to announce a new deal with Rogers Sportsnet that will put the UFC in millions of homes in Canada. Canada is an amazing market for this sport and we look forward to bringing the fans more UFC programming. We’re happy to have a strong television partner in Canada like Rogers Sportsnet."
