UFC 128 Video: Watch Jon 'Bones' Jones in His Pro MMA Debut From 2008

UFC light heavyweight Jon "Bones" Jones has come a long way in a relatively short time.

In 2008, Jones made his professional mixed martial arts debut with a small New Hampshire MMA promotion by the name of Full Force Productions. Recently, while cleaning out old boxes from a house fire, one of the commentators from Jones' debut fight unearthed a DVD copy of that fight.

Jones has fought 13 times since his debut bout against Brad Bernard. In those 13 bouts he has lost only once, a 2009 disqualification loss to Matt Hamill. Jones was disqualified in that bout for landing illegal 12-6 elbows on Hamill.

Most recently, Jones notched a second round submission of fellow up-and-coming UFC light heavyweight Ryan Bader at UFC 126.

With an impressive run through the light heavyweight division, the UFC asked Jones, after his UFC 126 win, to step in for the injured Rashad Evans at the upcoming UFC 128 event. Evans was scheduled to meet UFC light heavyweight champion Mauricio "Shogun" Rua on the March 19th fight card—instead it will be the 23-year-old Jones battling "Shogun" for the championship at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on that night.
